A Sweet Fragrance

One of the things that I love about the spring is to once again purchase flowers and plants for my back patio and arbor.  Recently I was shopping and I saw a gardenia plant that was just about dead. It was full of yellow and brown leaves. However, it did have some unopened buds on it.  In my mind I was thinking that I think I could save and once again restore it to a beautiful productive plant.  So I purchased it and put it under my arbor. I then began my transformation by removing all the bad leaves, watering and letting it absorb the wonderful sunshine that God provides. In about a week I got so excited, called to Jon, “come and see the beautiful white gardenia flowers and smell the sweet fragrance.” What a wonderful fragrance that emanates from the gardenia flower.

“Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God.” 2 Corinthians 2:15 a

Once I also was regarded as a cast away, but God through His Son, Jesus purchased me and gave me a new Life. Just as the the sweet aroma from the gardenia plant brought joy to me, how much more pleasure and joy it must bring to our Heavenly Father when the sweet fragrance of Christ rises to heaven from the lives of His redeemed children.
